Luke 1:17 "...and he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared.”
The Lord revealed to the father of John the Baptist that his son would operate in the spirit and power of Elijah as prophesied in Malachi 4:5-6. Zechariah, with all of believing Israel, have been looking forward to the coming of their Messiah and his forerunner (the one who would go before the King to prepare the way). Jesus affirms in Matthew 17 that John the Baptist was that forerunner. But He also got us to look forward to the Spirit of Elijah that would come again before His 2nd Coming. I believe this time, the Spirit of Elijah will come upon a willing remnant in the Body of Christ, to walk in his anointing to prepare the way of the Lord.
In the first part of this 3-part series, "The Spirit of Elijah in the End-Times", I shared about the life of Elijah and the spiritual and political state of Israel in his time. It gives us a glimpse into what the end-time Elijah generation and what they will have to confront in their day. In this 2nd part, I'll share about how the Elijah generation will spark and fuel a Spirit-led Global Prayer Movement that will prepare the Bride to meet her Bridegroom King.
As a missionary and traveling itinerant preacher, I've been witnessing the mushrooming of prayer houses all over the world - not manned just by faithful older ladies, but strangely but young men and women in the prime of their youth. Some have chosen to stop their studies for a season, others have given themselves fully into this endeavour. Some have even sold all they have, moved to a different nation, to plant a house of prayer among an unknown, unreached people group.
