Is your heart satisfied in God?
If it isn’t, you’re not alone. The Psalmist had an unfulfilled longing too:
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God? Ps 42:2 He wanted to be satisfied in the presence of God. Yet today, the presence of God seems elusive. Some believe only gifted worship leaders “usher in the presence.” Others believe their sin, laziness or inexperience disqualifies them.
Others find talk of the presence of God offensive, waving it off as flaky overspiritual imagination or presumption. Sometimes we are consumed by the bustle of life and the pursuit of distinction. We want His power and provision; His presence we can do without.
In this practical session, we explore how Scripture reveals the Gospel as God’s unwavering invitation into His loving presence — regardless of how distant we’ve been or how “young” in the faith we are.
Then, we will walk through a guided meditation to approach God’s throne of grace where we might receive mercy and find grace in our time of need (Heb 4:16).
Maybe even find satisfaction. "I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you" Psalm 63:5
About Daniel Yap
Daniel Yap was a hardened sceptic touched by God while in university. He recalls days of heady, uncontainable joy in the Lord. He served as a campus missionary upon graduating, and after that served as youth pastor at Petra Church.
Despite the support of a gifted, God-loving team,he experienced emotional depletion and left ministry to recover his first love for Christ. He is somewhat optimistic about AI, enjoys listening to his wife gush over furry animals. The saints who inspire him are Dallas Willard, Sadhu Sundar Singh, and Count Zinzendorf.
