Event: Overcoming the Perfectionism & Achievement Trap - Reducing the noise of inner ‘should’ and learning to follow the voice of the Shepherd | ONLINE EVENT |

Speaker: Dr. Joanna Williamson

Date: 21 April 2026

Time: 7:30pm to 9:00pm *GMT +8hrs

Venue: ALBY Events via ZOOM Online

Fee: $12

This webinar explores how perfectionism and overthinking are not merely psychological challenges, but deeply spiritual struggles rooted in our identity, trust, and understanding of God.

Drawing on insights from Chatter: The Voice in Our Head, Why It Matters, and How to Harness It alongside the theological wisdom of Martin Luther, Brennan Manning, A. W. Tozer, E. M. Bounds, and Richard J. Foster, this session offers a holistic path to freedom in Christ and a life of faithful obedience, rather than anxious striving.

If you find yourself constantly replaying conversations, second-guessing decisions, or feeling that even your best efforts fall short, this webinar is for you.

Overthinking—what Kross calls “chatter”—can trap the mind in cycles of self-criticism and fear. Spiritually, this often reflects a deeper struggle: trying to earn what Scripture tells us is already freely given in Christ—our acceptance and righteousness in Him (Romans 5:1, Ephesians 2:8–9).

In this session, you’ll journey through a clear, biblically grounded process: first understanding how your inner voice works, then reframing your identity through God’s grace, and finally applying simple, powerful practices to create lasting change. You’ll learn how to silence the inner critic with truth from God’s Word, release the need to control every outcome through prayer (Philippians 4:6–7), and cultivate spiritual disciplines that calm your heart and refocus your mind on Christ.

You’ll leave with practical tools you can apply in your daily life, including a short biblical prayer framework for interrupting overthinking, a mental reset technique to create distance from anxious thoughts, and a daily rhythm rooted in Scripture to reduce perfectionist pressure.

Rather than striving for perfection, this webinar invites you into something far better: a life grounded in God’s unconditional love (1 John 3:1), marked by peace that surpasses understanding, and shaped by faithful—not flawless—action.

Join us to move from anxious striving to restful trust, and from inner chatter to a deeper, lived experience of God’s grace.
