There's widespread confusion among many Christians about the end times.
Are we really in the end times?
Is Israel significant, or irrelevant?
Is it Pre-Trib, Mid-Trib, or Post-Trib? Premillennial, Postmillennial, or Amillennial?
Since the time of the Roman Empire when Christianity was birthed, followed by Rome's persecutions of Christians when Christians were fed to lions for entertainment purpose, to its acceptance of Christianity...there has never been a time when the truth was (and is) never challenged. It's almost 2,000 years since Jesus came, yet the Church is still here, Scoffers reign!
You can be excused for throwing up your hands in exasperation because churches and denominations are hugely divided over the issue. It ranges from excitement to nonchalance, more likely the latter. Should we just ignore it altogether just because of the confusion and the range of opinions?
In this talk Wan will trace the Church's understanding beginning with the Bible, then trace some developments in the early Church's fathers, latter Church fathers, to Augustine during the Roman Empire. Augustine had a huge influence in shaping the medieval church and even the Reformers till today.
Was Augustine helpful?
The Reformers largely held on to Augustinian theology. Many churches today are the same.
The aim of this talk is to shed clarity so you will hopefully be less confused on this subject. In the face of major troublesome & worrying signs worldwide you need clarity not more confusion.
About Wan Lai Meng
Born and educated in Singapore, Wan Lai Meng moved to Perth, Australia with his family in 1998. For nearly 30 years he held senior executive positions in several multi-national companies. He became a born-again Christian in 1986, and served in various capacities in the church in Singapore.
After taking up seminary studies to improve his understanding of the Bible and to minister more effectively in his church, he decided to exit the business world to focus more intensely on the study of God's Word, the Bible, in 1997. Now ministering in small groups he is involved in preaching and teaching in both Singapore and Perth, Australia.
He has spent the last ten years in an intensive study of the Bible and has developed a great love for Israel and the Jewish people. Out of which led him to writing the book ISRAEL A LIGHT UNTO THE NATIONS to illuminate the Church's understanding of Israel and to support and pray for her.
